**REGISTRATION STILL OPEN FOR THE FOLLOWING SUMMER PROGRAMS**
MINUTEMAN SUMMER
Minuteman Baseball will run a Summer Minuteman League for current 7th – 10th graders. This league will be comprised of teams from the same towns as the Minuteman Spring league. It will provide an opportunity for players to participate in a less competitive and more informal level of play than the Lou Tompkins program.
Games will begin mid-June with games being played on Monday through Thursday nights. The schedule is a 12 game schedule (2 games per week). The single elimination playoffs will begin on in early August
There are no tryouts for this team, but a certain number of players are required to field a team. If we are unable to field a team, families will receive a full refund. To the extent that we receive registrations more than the maximum number allowed but less than two teams, selection will be based on player availability during the summer and the order of receipt of the application forms.
Registration Fee: $275.
JIMMY FUND
Jimmy Fund is a league for those who are interested in playing competitive and fun summer baseball but do not want the commitment of Bay State. There is no assessment and players are placed on balanced teams.
Teams play against other LS teams, and against teams from surrounding towns.
The season will start with a week of practices the week of June 27th. After the first week, the schedule consists entirely of games, all of which occur on weeknight evenings. Games typically start in late June/early July and run through the end of July.
Unlike the LSYB spring season, the minors and majors divisions are inter-grade. The younger players in a division can improve by playing against older, stronger players. For the older players in a division, they have an opportunity to be the leaders on their team and set an example for their younger teammates.
The divisions and schedules are as follows:
Jimmy Fund Farm - Current 1st Graders One event per week, coach pitch, typically held on Wednesday Nights.
Jimmy Fund Farm – Current 2nd Graders. Games will be held Monday and Thursday nights. All games will be at 5:30 or 6:00.
Jimmy Fund Minors - Current 3rd and 4th Graders. Games will be held Tuesday, Thursday, and alternate Friday evenings. Most games are at 5:30 or 6:00, but some Featherland games will be at 7:30 under the lights.
Jimmy Fund Majors - Current 5th and 6th graders. Games will be held Monday, Wednesday, and alternate Friday evenings. Most games will be at 5:30 or 6:00.
The majors division will play games on the 50/70 field. This provides continuity for the players that have played on the 50/70 field in the spring, and provides an introduction to the larger field for the 5th graders.
Registration Fee Jimmy Fund Farm: $175.
Registration Fee Jimmy Fund Minors and Majors $215.
